I've got an 08 rtx with sly dog powder hounds and a 1.5" freeride track. I currently run 6" shaper bars but find it is prone to darting and can be really twitchy on the trail. I have run deuce bars in the past and had good luck with them but I don't think they make one for the slydogs. I was wondering if anyone here has tried the slim jim dooley's? If so what are your thoughts? I was thinking of trying them in either 4" or 6".
Thanks,
Derek

should be fine with what your running now. just adjust you limiter strap to bite harder or a little less.
to me the dooley's may be too aggressive.
i'm just running standard 6"carbides & don't have issues.

bergstrom has some products to eliminate darting also saves your envestment of skis really well priced and first found his product on ulmer racing so you know it's good he also sell carbides i havent used yet though

I have straight 6" bars on mine and they are great 100 times better than stock.

He already has the skis, and still finds it twitchy, and i know exactly what the question is because i have the same one, lol.
Is it worth putting doolies on an aftermarket ski? Mine was still twitchy, BUT, i have very little test time on it after the skis, and believe it was caused by in-correct toe? If i can't 'adjust it out', would that be a feasible next step in trying doolies?
Thanks, Mike.

Derek I'm running the slim jim dooleys on stock ski's and love them. My sled was pushing in the turns and darting bad with the stock runners/carbides. So I watch the slim jim dooley video at woody's website and figured I would give them a try. I was very impressed. My sled would actually turn with them and the darting was almost gone. The trail has to be in really rough condition for it to dart at all and even then it is minimal. I'm sold on the slim jim dooley's. But like anything this is just one man's opinion.

I run slim Jims... 100% solved the darting issue, but with the stock 1" track it whips the back end around a bit depending on the conditions.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feed back. I think I will try them soon to solve my darting issue as I'm very happy with everything I've done to the sled but want to get rid of the darting issue. The sled is fantastic off trail but wont go straight no matter how much I adjust the toe so I want to try the slim jim's. Thanks again guys and I will try and give a report when I get them on!!

When I had my Nytro, I had C&A XTX with 6 inch Shaper. I had the same problem that you have. I manage to bring it down by shimming the ski, but it still was present.
On my Phazer, I am running the Slim Jim on stock ski. I like the others members, I did some researche and they seems to be good product. I bought a set from Fort Nine. In my opinion they are great. They are like mini snow tracker. I really recommend them. Like 80h4thephaze, I have the original 1 inch track that has seen better days. I also experience whips when off the gaz or when engaging a turns. Hopefully it will be solve when I will change my track next year.
Not to change the subject, but do like your Slydog? I want to get wider ski next year?

I have them of 2 Yamahas 1) 2005 RS Vector with a extend rail/track to 136 , and they are GREAT on and off trail. 2) I put them on 2015 SR Viper LTX DX Awesome in Loose powder and Off trail, but on a Hard packed cold icy trail.. Lots of Darting... Hoping Shims or different Carbide/wear solution will improve it for LTX DX ... running 6 inch sharpers on both sleds right now ...
