Smoking Nytro

When I ride my sled for a while and then shut it off, smokes comes through the dash by the steering stem, and now yesterday I noticed some smoke coming up through the dash behind that calculator screen that they call the speedo. I first just thought is was steam from snow dust hitting the radiator, but now it smells more like hot plastic. I tried feeling around under there, and nothing felt hot. I thought at first it was the high quality made in china relay for the DDM HID's that I have, but that relay felt cool. All I can tell is its coming from higher up on the sled, like above the radiator. Has anyone else had this happen? I would hate for my Nytro to start on fire!!

Check flex joints they might be broken happen on my buddy's sled

I can do that. I have about 1200 miles on these donuts, so I am sure they are shot. plus my sled backfires occasionally when coasting up to a stop sign, and that's a good indication of bad donuts. I don't know if that would cause it to smell like hot plastic though??

I have been getting the something....just replaced the header last year (right at the end )so I was thing it was the shipping oil ....maybe not I will have to check those out tonight.......

I got 4500 miles on mine now, and I know it's not the exhaust, since that's been on there for 2 years now. It smells like plastic, and that's what makes me wonder. Like something electrical is getting hot, and the plastic is melting. I should check the radiator fan, maybe that's going bad. I would think the temperature light would come on then.

Mine does it all the time. There is never a ton of smoke but enough that its noticable. I think it is probably just steam but mixed in with the smell of the engine and hot plastic.

That's what I always thought so never really looked into it...I always have steam but I'm off trail a lot ....where the tool bag is its full of snow all the time

Mine is the same. Maybe does it for 2-3 mins, and then its done. I'll keep an eye on it.

When I first got my used 09, I thought there was something leaking too. Steam coming out like a sauna. There is too much snow getting inside the hood, and I think thats what causes the wet left foot also.

Get the Schmidt bros clutch guard works awesome plus if you blow a belt you won't blow out the belly pan to.....plus no wet foot......I have never had that problem but it works on that to.....
