Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a sled to sled radio, were i can talk to my girlfriend on an another sled and listen to music when were not talking.
My local Yamaha dealer has this: http://www.cardosystems.com/us/scala-ri ... a-rider-q2
It's awesome but, they want $400 dollars for it.

Just wanted to check on the other options are out there, what are you guys using?

I have the collett comm. they work great.I hook my mp3 up and listen to it whenever someone talks the music stops. The speakers arent the best for tunes but I am going to get Rocks sled tunes system so that should cure the speaker issue.

Depending on what helmet you have you may have a hard time getting that system secured on your helmet. I got the system you mentioned and there's no way it will work with my Modular helmet. This kit was designed for open faced motorcycle helmets in my opinion.

I started with the Chatterbox 90 models, not to bad but could be better. Then we moved up to the chatterbox FRC unit. They were pretty Darn cool! Good range, pumped the ipod into it and it sounded good, communication was good sounding. After about 5 years they started to get a little crackly and we decided to try the collett 900's, after 1/2 day with them we took them off of our helmets and actually Gave them away because the sound and quality was nothing compared to the Chatterbox. We ahve now upgraded to the Chatterbox x-1. the range is great, sound is great and hands down the best unit of the 4 different models that we have tried.
I saw them for sale at a snow show, I think it was Spanky's. they were selling for $180 each.

why would you want your old lady screaming at you in your helmet????,,,,, i ride to get away from that..lol

Does this really fit into the helmet comfortably? I was looking for a system like this so i don't have to stop every 5 mins and wait for my dad to catch up.

That is the best part about them! none of them are set up to where you can have a conversation while running down the trail, so listening to the old lady the whole time will never happen but they are nice for when you slow down and making sure that whomever you are riding with is close or coming or even ok.

Used these systems years ago, and the wife never could understand how it worked. A mans voice would work well, but not a womens( to soft) couldn't get the vox to work properly. and its just yak yak yak, They have to use all 24 thousand words aday, and the guys have used their 6 thousand words by noon or so. We just have nothing more to say! good day and good luck with your wish.

communi

I have the Collett Communicator Platinum 900 model
it works great - especially when your with a group of riders. :jump:
small group we'd have the front & rear rider with one.
large group we'd have the front one or two in the middle & rear riders.
so you can communicate to let know what's going on in the pack.
great for having your iPOD or MP3 player listening to your favorite tunes - then when someone talks the music cuts out & you hear what their saying - then the tunes come back on.
Only bad thing if someone sings along to the song & they really sing bad - thats a bad thing.... :o|
