Does anyone know if Yamaha sells a cotton under cover for their full snowmobile covers or if you know if any aftermarket covers will fit? My windshield and hood are getting scuffed up with the full body cover when I trailer. Also the pipes are getting scuffed by the cover. Is this happening to anyone els and what's the solution besides an enclosed trailer?

Under covers
Most undercovers I have seen only cover the front and windshield. I thought mine came with the covers. I don't remember getting them separately.

When I used to have an open trailer, I bought a soft blanket.
All that you do is tuck it in all around the hood before you put the cover on.
Works great.

The deluxe cover from Yamaha comes with the hood undercover works great.

They sell them separate about $30 each at dealer. I use them on all my sleds in garage when not riding.

Here's an aftermarket cover that fits VERY well. Blackjohn got one for his sled and we felt it was made-to-fit the RX-1. Fits nicely over the pipes. I believe it has soft cloth inside. Scroll down to the "Heavy Duty Deluxe" section on the page in this link.... at CDN$160 it was very reasonable too.

I went for the deluxe Yamaha-issue cover. It had the soft cloth sewn in already. Have trailered plenty with it and no issues with scuffing at all. When I have to replace it...I'd go with aftermarket simply because it costs around half and is comparable quality. All it's missing is the jazzy lettering.
They also list an undercover for less than CDN$30 too.

No, but they SHOULD. I have a reputation for my displays of sponteneous free-style. In fact, they are so spontaneous that "I" don't even see them coming.
Don't try this at home. I'm a pro at it. We were doing 'free-style' before it was called 'free-style' back in the days of three-wheelers. In fact we considered calling it 'free-from-style' but it wasn't as catchy.
Now, of course, you can't make any money doing THIS kind of free-style - you just spend it...oh well.

Kmer,
What software are you using to create your avatars? Looking to create my own but looking for advice. Looking to do an animated one.

Hey TB,
Sorry about 'hijacking' your thread...LOL...
My world revolves around AutoCAD so I start there with the linework and then dump it to a *.bmp file... add colour using MSpaint..... and resample/resize using PaperPort and export to *.gif.
CorelDraw would be a good place to start if you don't have access to AutoCAD. It would probably do everything you need. I don't use it enough to be proficient so I go back to the 'basics'.
I haven't tried to animate them yet, but would also like to know what guys are using. Check with Convert and Fox1_RX-1...they did their own. I think you just create a series of *.gif files and then stack them together.
Drop me a line with your idea. I'd be happy to do some linework for ya or anyone else on the forum.

TB I use a really old version of cell animator it's basically a whole bunch of pictures rolled together kinda like those old books ya used to zip through the pages and watch something appear to move. (am i dating myself here) You set the time between pics so that it looks like its moving. My rotating sled pic is acually the sled that yamaha has on their website under the 360 degree virtual reality I just took screen shots of each position shrunk it and rolled it all together (there now ya know my little secret)
If you want a copy of cell animator i'll email it to ya if you give me your address it fits on a floppy disc.
