I'm excited about the new Viper but it appears many people are not. What brand are you planning to leave for? Obviously I got fed up with the lack of changes and left. But, guess what, the Viper has me very interested in a new Yamaha again. I'm curious to see where people think the grass is greener?

Keeping my nytro and very possible that all be snowcheking a viper! The price isn't too high which is even more inviting plus they mig have some rebates.

Guys will leave for Cat as the Turbo is available and the quality assurance has just become a reality. If the turbo comes with a Yamaha driveline some of us may even rebadge the turbos and have real fast Vipers. Two can play at this game. If Yamaha does'nt produce what we want we will. No anger just a little disappointed that there weren't more engine options after such a hyped/drawn out wait.

I'm waiting for Skidoo to release a new ACE 900 engine...approx. 100hp, light and fuel efficient...hopefully affordable. My Apex is a great sled though, more than what I need, but heavy when stuck...which holds me back from riding off trail.

Do you feel a 100HP sled will be fun off trail? We ride 90% off trail and I know it would blow goats with that HP level unless you were planning on putting around Bravo style.

I am mostly a trail rider...not a powder rider, but it has gotten to the point where I'm afraid to turn around on my Apex by venturing off the trail. 100hp would be perfect for me.

Viper doesn't have enough power for me and don't like the cat chain case and light duty skid rails!!! I ride with a new cat awesome looking rig but has many reliably issues like bending rails and cracking, reverse is problematic. Until these issues get worked out for longevity I will stay with my very reliable apexs. For the type of trail riding I do nothing is better in my eyes and hell I not a brand loyal person I only like what works for me. If the can up the power and make chassis reliable for my type of riding lets do it!!AKrider said:I'm excited about the new Viper but it appears many people are not. Gotchya.
Back on topic, Polaris Assault or Pro-RMK for me! My Nytro is still in my garage, but I'm thinking not for much longer. I don't ride that many miles and the Poo 800 seems to have come around reliability wise. It's such a fun sled to ride.
I've waited too long for Yamaha to build a competitive mountain sled and I'm not getting any younger. If it's OK for Yam to get in bed with the competition, then why the heck am I being so loyal for!

Im going to wait to vote on this one, I want to see if cat is going to have the Yamaha 4stroke engine and clutches in there lineup this year but with the gauges that came on the 2013 A/C sleds. I like all the functions and features available for the viper gauge but the digital display leaves something to be desired...
or...
which would you rather have?
also is the new viper going to come with the heated goggle storage compartment that is on the cats also? that would be a nice feature to have on these sleds but I havent seen it mentioned anywere, does anyone that has seen them already know if its there or not?
since they are co-branding these sleds its going to come down to engines/clutches and standard equipment available to each. one thing I know tho is that its going to be 4stroke procross/viper chassis that I am buying this year, converting to the 38-39" front suspension, switching out the 141 for a 153 and putting a powerclaw or 2.5 CE track on it. if there is enough money left over from that spending spree the turbo here I come!

Hopefully they build a normally aspirated Nytro powered M sled, then all you would have to do is turbo it. Or, just buy the 1100T High Country and hope she holds together. My bud has one and it ran flawlessly until 1500 miles. He's been having clutch and belt issues after that. Loves how it works when it is running though.
