Just purchased this sled and have not ridden it yet. I've demoed an 08 Nytro on a lake. This is what i know:
1.great motor
2.great clutching
3.great quality
4.TWITCHY/TIPPY handling
I enjoy riding bumped out tight trails. I have 2 questions:
1. will the 09 set up truly alleviate the handling issue?
2. Compared to the F series Arcitc cat (F6 SP) which i hated the motor and loved the ride will the nytro be able to compare in the big bumps?
I'm really looking fwd to comparing this to my past 2 sleds 07 MXZ adrenaline and the 07 F6.

nytro wil out perform the f6 in the big bumps, and in the small bumps(comparing to any f6 sno pro iv driven)... and once u get used to the nytro handling i think u will LOVE it, it is different but just part of getting used to a new sled.

Throw some pilot skis on it and it will handle day and nite better.
That was the response i was hoping for. Anyone else have any comparisons btwn these 2 sleds? I will consider the pilot skiis for sure. However i will ride it first before sinking any additional funds into the sled. Do you think just a carbide swap would help out the skii situation?

Pilots are only $160 shipped a pair. Best money you will ever spend on that sled. If you have arms like Popeye maybe you could just get different carbides.

I just made the jump for an 06 MXZ 600, and I'm still adjusting, from what I can tell the short tracks are not as good in the powder, but when you get on a packed trail they "pull like a freight train" Mine has the pilot skis, new drivers and all the extras done. My is an 09 shorty. My rev was 60-75 lbs lighter and I only notice it on the steering. I will PM you and keep you posted.

Re: Sold 07 Artic Cat F6SP for New 2009 RTX?
First thing your gonna notice is that the Nytro is more suited for standing up riding. I added a 2" riser to my Nytro and thats the way I perfer to ride it. Thats one of the reasons for not buying a F-series sled from Arctic Crap, seat was to wide for standing up. Your getting 2 things with your Nytro that you never had with your F6 sno pro. the 1st thing is a sled that is faster and 2nd a sled that handles the bumps better.

or put sno trackers on ur skis, they help alot
i agree the width of the F6 seat was horrible for stand up riding. I will be thrilled if this sled handles better than the f6 in bumps.. Thought the F6 was very good in med to small bumps. Once that got big the F6 lost its composure. The snow trackers sound like a cheap and easy fix. Maybe that will be my first purchase after i ride it for a day?
Here is my comparison with me new 2009 Nytro RTX. Pd $9k US total, and 2 year YES warranty. I'm simply stunned. Let me first say I really liked the ride of my F6 SP. I also liked ergos minus the wide seat. Going to the Nytro my one and only fear was, could the ride and handling compare to the F6. The questions were answered today. I could ride faster and it easily absorbed the nastiest moguls with ease. I'm not brand loyal whoever has the best product for me gets my money. I maybe back to Cat one day? However, I finally found the right sled for me. Below are my thoughts
1. motor is outrageous and super smooth cannot compare it to the F6
2. ergos are personal preference but i thought they were spot on and basically equal to F6 however, I preferred the narrow seat on Nytro
3. Nytro better suspension for my style. Not quite as smooth as F6 but better big bump capability
4. Fit and finish is excellent cannot compare to any other brand i have been on
6. 16 mpg's on first tank which is amazing. However, small tank 7.4 gal so range maybe better on F6. I prefer the range so i will go with F6
7. Handling. this can go to either sled. If you like to move around alot the Nytro is great. If you like to sit more the F6 is great. I also feel the Nyttro reacts quicker to rider input than F6
Final Impressions: the harder you ride the Nytro the better it is. My brother owns a 2007 MXZ 500ss. He rode the Nytro for 10 mins and is going to purchase one ASAP. Simply put tis is the best sled for my style of riding and taste. Don't get me wrong there are a couple issues with this sled (weak handwarmers/small tank) but this are non-issues for me. Could be big deal for someone else. These are my opinions i realize everyone has different opinions and I can respect any and all. This is my honest review. I truly am stunned at this product.

My brother rode my 08 and after one ride, less than 10 min. he was hooked and had me searching for one for him. His f7 was nice, but the Nytro was better for him. He has put on around 1000 miles since buying it used last year, and the only problem he has had is he blew the original belt, at around 2700 miles on the belt and machine. He wanted a low maint. machine, that was fast, well he found it............
