I would suggest that anyone that has bought a 05' should test your coolant. I along with others have found that when we checked our coolant mixes.....they are turning out to be a super high level if not all antifreeze. Mine pegged the tester and must have been rated for -80 farenheight.....so.....
Owners man calls for a 60/40 mix.....I'm mixing as I type....lol

I had two 04 mountains with the same condition. They over heated very quickly. Dealer had no clue. I found out that they both had 100% antifreeze with perhaps no water at all. But it took me all winter to find that issue. Very few people save for those rolling around on the tundra will need more than a 50/50 mix. Even when the antifreeze mixture company says good til -45, it means even more protection because the company wants you to over use the product, so they sell more than you actually need, and it guards well below rated area. To prove this, put some of your 50/50 mix in a glass jar and put it out in the coldest temps you can find all winter. You might get a few ice crystals, but that isn't going to ruin any engine. And 50/50 mix cools better than 60/40, etc. Since Yamahooper Inc. had decided that their 4 strokers don't need much heat exchanger, you need to do all you can do to keep those engines from running on the hot side.
NOTE: A good eye can look in the over floe tank and stick your finger in there and let it coat your finger (cold of course) and then go to your car and let it coat your other finger. If it feels thicker and more slippery, it probably is too high a concentrate. Get a checker (they cost about $3 at auto parts) and continue. If you have too high a concentrate, you will run on the high temp side of the engine and that will shorten the life of that sweet sound you all like to hear. And if yamaha is listening, find the idiot that is putting this stuff in on the line and replace him asap.

Checked mine. Right off the scale! Going to pull some out and add water.

I haven't looked, but Is there an easy drain location we can drain some out without making a mess?

I checked mine and it was 100%....I pulled the carb coolant line on the Vector and fired up the engine and it will pump antifreeze out into a small container. While it was running and I was draining my wife was filling the reservoir with water. I need to do it 1 more time and it will be set. I ordered ice scratchers any way to help the skid but like to ride without them when possible.

Coolant Ratios....
Geezeee guys, I'm glad I could help!
Get your ratios correct and now add a couple of ounces of RedLine Waterweter and cooling will improve even more!

We checked all seven of our groups and they all test at 60/40 anti-freeze to water.

Im sure this issue is just the random shop guy that thinks its better to just add straight coolant.....
Or....do these sleds come with anitfreeze in them from the factory??

Mine was ultrahigh as well. Pegged my Prestone meter. Called dealer and they "say" they come from factory with coolant. He did agree better cooling with correct ratio.

Put me down in the Ultra high column as well.
Removed a quart and replaced it with water, still tests to -45 F

My coolant heater arrived at the dealer today. So from the coolant loss during install I should be able to get to the correct ratio.

Same Issue here. I just bought two new 05' warriors and went riding last weekend and they were overheating like crazy. Checked the antifreeze and it was off the meter. I had to drain almost a quart and 1/2 to get it to 60/40. Hopefully this will cure my overheating problem.

I had to drain about 2/3 of a gallon or so when I installed the coolant heater. Upon filling it back up I'm pretty close to the correct ratio, added a little Redline Water Wetter as well.
Anyone thinking of installing the coolant heater its an easy job.
