Keep your eyes on the red RX1 in the middle.
The ice was super soft. The track edges were 2-3 feet wide of water and slush. Ted was running his 136" against 144". Hope he makes Big Moose Saturday.

Yes, Otis is fast given the limitations of the rear mount turbo and play money.
It is coming along nicely.
Ted.

03 Yamaha RX-1 ... $10,000
Turbo kits, track, and proline ....$7,000
Ted's help........ PRICELESS!!!
It's running good for a rear mount as Ted says. I find my self in between the good running trial sleds and the space ships Ted builds.

So when it comes to kicking the smelly 2 stroke guys I would like to know how fast Teds sled goes and how fast a rear mount like Otis can go?

Oh my......there is a big difference, especially out of the hole!! Holy smokes!! Way too many differences between sleds. They look alike, but they don't run alike.
Because he pulls such a strong launch,(custom front mount, clutching set up, boost level, and maybe some other secrets, Ted's top end at the 660' will be much stronger. You know...we've been around each other for a some years now and we've never lined up. Maybe we both know it would be a waste of good Q16. LOL
If we both make it to the Moose this Saturday, maybe we can show you the difference!!
He'll make me look silly! Like he does when he races most people.

It's all about getting that 700lbs moving - mine on ice, with trail studs goes sideways nearly as fast as it goes forward
Ted looks to have done a great job getting that thing hooked.
Thanks for the video

So nobody wants to tell me how fast these turbos actually are in 660'? Just wondering what to expect in difference between front mount and rear mount. So does the rear mount have to much Lag to be a good ice racer?

A great front mount will 1.2 second 60 foot times and run around 5.1 at mid 130. The rear mount has .2 lag out of the hole, so around 5.3 to 5.5 at 120 in 660 on ice.. There are 100 different things that attribute to those numbers also, suspension, boost controller, turbo , clutches, exhaust, jetting, just to name a few.

It is not that nobody wants to tell you how fast these sleds are.
The fact is you can have 3 sleds built by 3 different people with the exact same parts and they won't run the same.
A Rear mount turbo is at a big disadvantage when it comes to drag racing, the time it takes for the onset of power from the time you hit the throttle, can be .04 to 1 second depending on many things like jetting, clutching, turbo size, gearing, etc.
A rear mount can be made in to a good racer with sofisticated electronics to make and control boost for consistant launches, these add considerable cost and weight to the sled though.
A Front mount will out accelerate from a dead stop every time and in the end is cheaper to go faster.
My Black Trail Turbo 04 Warrior full weight + the added weight of the turbo system Aprox 850 lb. with driver, strapped down and clutched goes 5.5 all day long.
My Red Pro Stock RX1 Turbo at 720 lb. Goes 5.1 so far and still going faster every day I work at it.
Last Year as I remember Ross Rear mount Trial sled went 6.7 et and this year on a crappy pass went 5.9, He still needs some clutch parts that I suggested but like everything else Money is the limiter of Performance.
I hope this answers your questions.
