I'll combine 3 subjects in one topic.
Does anybody know if the other 4 strokes can run in the Soo 500. That would be an interesting race. Seeing all those 4 strokes being led by an Apex.
I did the Rocker Dan switch, and I had Buddah complaining about hot hands when we switched sleds. Thanks Dan.
There is an interesting article in Snow Tech with a new invention to stop inside ski lift. they say the engineers have not been unable to solve this problem. Obviously they don't read TY. Our guys put on stronger sway bars, and the problem is solved.

I also read the article in the current issue of Snow Tech and found it very interesting. Basically the steering linkage is connected to a cam on the upper shock mount that increases the ski pressure on the outside ski and reduces the ski pressure on the inside ski whenever the handlebars are turned.
This effectively causes the sled to lean into the corners reducing body roll and rider effort. Much better than a stiffer sway bar IMO.

No, it works just like I stated. The linkage moves the inside ski upper shock mount upwards and the outside ski upper shock mount downwards. This reduces ski pressure on the inside ski and increases ski pressure on the outside ski.
Imagine turning into a right hand corner with your inside (right) front shock being "softer" and the outside (left) front shock geing "stiffer". The sled will "lean" into the corner somewhat like you do on a motorcycle but to a much lesser degree.
The article is called High Side Steering (HSS) and it is on page 72 of the Jan/Feb issue of Snow Tech which by the way is the best sled mag around IMO.

my only reservations with this is that to do this with linkage means that you are not only turning the sled with your bars/arms, you would now be lifting the sled. this would be a great invention if yamaha used the power steering from the atv or if the shock height was just controlled by a servo run off the battery and a switch to the steering, this would be better as it could have a lake race mode on it and lower the sled for a few extra mph
