I just replaced all three spark plugs with new ones and took a photo of the old plugs to see if any problems can be identified by the plug condition. The color on all three was medium brown, which is good I think, but the third cylinder plug (cylinder closest to throttle) has some whitish stuff and rust on the outer plug and compression washer. Maybe it had a leak at the washer?
For background this is a 2007 RS Rage with 500 miles that gave intermittent problems one day this past weekend by backfiring and losing power above 20mph. The problems did not show up the next day. Possibly old/bad gas.
Anyway, here is the pic if it can be any help:

I'm guessing you just got some water or snow in the plug cavity on top of the plug. If its running good now, with the new plugs you should be good too go. Keep an eye on that cylinder though.

i'll say leak at the washer - when you first start it up - you have a lot of moisture getting compressed in the cylinder and forcing out of the bad washer - which is really a crush gasket - udder dan dat that's what plugs are supposed to look like

I know early on with the RX-1's, the coil packs would go bad and could tell in low light when they arc between them. Haven't had any issues with the coil packs in my 08 Apex. Yours may have just needed a good cleaning due to spark plug corrosion so might want to keep as a spare.

i always put a bit of dieletric grease in the tip of the coil and on the seal of the coil when i do spark plugs on these sleds.
