I know this is one way to lower engagement when running a stiffer spring, but what are the other(if any) benefits to spacing the spider out? I am trying to set up my clutch and have some tuning still left.
This is on a STM Rage 4, I am not having any belt grab issues that I can see.

Also, what is your thoughts on some belt slippage in the secondary once shifted out, about 2.5 to 3 inches down from top. Starting to look dull grayish and getting a bit warm.

Thanks
AJ

I like to lower engagement by using a primary spring with the same total force but less preload.

If the belt is slipping in the secondary at high speed there are 2 ways to deal with this
Stiffer secondary spring which usually works a lot better then wrapping the one you have tighter.
Run a shallower helix with more mass in the primary weights..
Pay my flight out there & i will have ya fixed in less then an hour.

Turk, I already ordered the spring to get engagement down. This is on my Z1, I think I will wind up the spring adjuster a bit, stupid compression secondary springs.

There isn't anything for snow out here to ride on, or I would fly you out to play for a weekend......LOL
