I am thinking of installing these hand guards. I already have the low blue windshield and was thinking of getting the chrome ones. Can anybody tell me if the factory Yamaha cover will go over these or can they be removed quickly. I doubt the cover will go as it is pretty snug already.

The stock cover will bend the hand guards and deform them.

I would think so. They stick up slightly higher than the sides of the windshield. Most of the stress is on the edge of the grips and unless you install your guards differently, they shouldn't interfere. I can fit my Polaris EDGE cover over my RX-1 with them.

I got my cover on with the sport techs on u have to use some care But we do anyways with our baby`s right It does go on i have never had a problem with deforming

I had the blue chrome Sprotech guards and did not have any luck with putting the stock cover on without bending them. The only way to adjust them quickly is to carry an allen wrench in a tool pouch or handle bar bag. Sold mine.

I have the sportech hand guards and handlebar hooks (both sides) and tarp still fits, but really tight due to the hooks. No problem with just the guards. This is with the deluxe tarp and low sportech windshield.
