I bought a left over 2018 SR Venture DX a week ago. I have a 2017 STX DX 137 that I bought 2 years ago and really like. When I saw this left over at the dealership I knew I had to have it. I don't need the power of the Sidewinder. I would never use it. I put about 1 mile on the Venture personally and then my 15 year old grand daughter took over and I never got it back. She just loves it. For those that don't know Yamaha only made this model for the one year (2018). This is truly sad. This sled is too good to only have for one model year. Are there any other people that have this model?

Same as the 16 and 17 Viper STX 146. I have a 17 and love it too!

Did the back seat and hard case saddle bags come with your STX DX 146 or are they extras?

The back seat and saddle bags are extra. I was able to pick up the heated 2 up seat for 850 US from my Arctic Cat dealer. Like the storage trunk and extra gas tank. But still handles almost as good as my LTX 137 did.

I could be wrong but I think the Venture DX and he new Sidewinder GT are the same frame...the DX uses the 1049cc engine and the Sidewinder GT uses the 998 turbo...SW has the fox shocks as an upgrade. The DX looks like an awesome machine and I like the grey and blue coloring. Got a question about the DX...is it quiet? My RS Venture TF made a drone sound that wasn't pleasant..

The RS sleds made the drone, I have not heard the drone on this sled. Still too new to know. The Cobra 1.6 Track on my STX 137 DX has a whine to it. More like a wind noise. The funny thing is as I get older I don’t crave the higher HP of the Sidewinder, when about 10 years ago I wanted the Apex engine in the Venture. Getting older and slower I guess.

I'm sure the DX has the 1049cc engine...my RS could get up and go when pressed into service...the DX looks like a very nice machine and I like the colors...
The RS drone was a deal breaker w me, its probably not the machine so much as my ears...just a frequency thing. I think the wind noise wouldn't bother me at all, it was the deep base sound that got me, it would go right through ear plugs.
Looking forward to what's coming out March 8th in the 2up...maybe then I will pop on a leftover. With the season winding down and having another sled available I'm in no rush, but I have the check ready to go for the winder GT or the newest version.
