Definately one of my high priority upgrades this summer will be a star suspension set up on my 09 xtx...my question is will the hygear triple rate front springs work well and compliment this set up. Anyone have any real world experience with this, time in the saddle so to speak?? Thanks in advance!!

you can get it dialed in pretty good with the stock front shocks, I would spend money on the STAR center shock mod and revalving first. they shorten the center shock approx. 3/8" and revalve both shocks....really good package. there is a really good thread in modification section here for suspension setups, really good reading. I loved my star kit.....new mods for this summer thugh.

How long does it take to install the Star Suspension kit?? (not including removing/re-installing skid)

Doesn't take that long really. Dont need to take the skid out. Actually they recommend not removing it. just unbolt, follow the instructions, replace and Voila!!! It took me about 2 hours but i'm very particular when it come to install stuff. I clean and grease everything I remove and replace. The front one was the quickest to do and I was alone doing it. The rear you take your rear axle out and loosen the track to give you more room. This is by far the best mod I have ever done with the JRE kit.

Cool! Star makes the kit for the MTX now. All they have to do is make the instructions that go with it. I will then order it ASAP. I thought there may have been some hole drilling in the rails etc. ,but I guess not. Sounds easy.

When you install the kit in the rear of the suspension the new plates will have a hole already drill but you have to drill your rails. Easy 2 holes only. The rest is all plug and play basically.
