Started sled today and...

I have 3 Apex’s in a sealed cargo container all summer. I put them to bed with a bunch of ethanol stabilizer and give the battery a full charge and that is it. When we pull them out they start perfect and then they come to my shop for the pre season oil lube and full work over for any wear parts, clutch cleaning etc. I have done this on all of them since 2007 and never had a problem. They still have their original batteries. I am at 20K on my 2007 Apex GT and it still feels like new. Except the standard fixes like all new wheels, sliders, skis, carbides, shock and spring upgrades, shock valves, loose rivets, yamaheaters, cobra tracks, welding and reinforcing the skid frame, re powder coating, broken drive shaft and so on. What do you expect of a motor that will outlast the chassis? Gotta Love IT

What I was told long ago was to change your oil when you put your machine away for the year. The thought process was that you do not have old contaminated oil sitting in your machine all year. Running it periodically would dump contaminates back into the oil so it is not recommended.

Well simple fix, the machine was running out of gas! ha! put some fresh fuel and she ran perfectly will be taken it into the shop soon for preseason work and will be ready to go.

About changing plugs. We don't change our car or truck plugs aren't changed, but we worry too much about our sleds.

How many of you have fouled a plug? I've got 16,000 miles, and never fouled a plug.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

if you dont let it get up to operating temp you will foul plugs in a hurry.... i know this from experience! :o|
