would like to know when the starter goes out have any of you guys tryed to start the sled with a rope and wrap it around the clutch?? I have two 07 with 500 miles on them and had a no start deal this weekend. stoped to take a break in the middel of no where late at nite shut sled off went to go and the starter just spins WTF???? nice tool kit no alens to take the side pannel off or the belly pan WTF???? try to start the sled with a rope around the clutch for like two hours no luck

will they start that way??

Yamaha need to look into there tool kits alen wrenches and starter ropes

Rope around the primary. Starts pretty easily actually. As long as the starter is the only issue.

Here is a video of me starting mine with a rope. The wife took the video and turned the camera side ways though, but you can still see it just fine. It's 19Meg so you might have to wait a minute or two for it to download depending on your connection speed.
