On the CNY Phazer ride today the sled just puked in the starting dept.
(Yes, you can start 'em very easily off the clutch with a rope)
Anyways,
load tested battery- that's good, tried heating the relay, by passed the relay (straight to the starter) and nothing- just a clicking sound.
Got ahold of my dealer on his cell, tried his idea and still doing it.
Is the starter hard to change & what do they cost?
Also, had code 88 flashing tonight (reverse indicator switch I guess)?? After trying somethings with the starter, that code is gone off the pod now

Porkchop: dont get frustrated yet....I guess we should try swapping my relay with yours. It really sounds like a relay issue to me.
Does your dealer have a relay in stock? I think napa carries a replacement as well

I'm gonna check with NAPA on Monday to see before just jumping in on the starter. I rode today, only shut it off for lunch (started right back up) people looked like "what the hell is he doing over there"??
** If you wanna bring yours up to my place you can get your windshield & bracket back as well LOL..... Call me on it, we can try.
Is the starter covered under warranty? I still do have coverage.
Code 88 never came back up after crossing the relay with a screwdriver + the indicator lights/ reverse work fine, got me on that one???

starting problems too.replaced relay&seemed to work for a bit;replaced with another new relay yesterday&it still wont start unless you jump the terminals-its going to yamaha tomorrow-will keep you posted
