Okay I primed the oil pump on the turbo, but what is the correct way to prime the engine.

Can I fill the reseivor and crank the motor over without plugs? Or is there a different rought I should go?

I would think that would be the proper way to do it and what I was going to suggest.

I had my carbs off and cranked it over..same idea. Did you put some oil in the engine through the valve cover?

I have assembly grease on the cames, rings and bearings. As of right now there is no oil in the motor.

I poured oil into the line that goes to the turbo oil pump.

I read someplace not to put oil in the top of the motor, because it would cause a air pocket??? I dont know if this would happen, I would think putting oil in from the top would be a good way to get some oil in the motor before igniting it.

I don't know about the air pocket idea. I put about 1/2 a liter in the valve cover just so nothing was dry...

Maybe pm lakercr..he builds alot of these engines and would definetly have a routine.

I've always used air pressure on the sump with the sump a little over full. I just put a rag around my air nozzle and put a slight pressure onto the sump, while I pinch the sump vent return to the crankcase by hand. That pushes oil though to the pressure stage of the pump. Just be careful not to get carried away with the pressure and balloon the drysump tank. It doesn't take much. I've always had instant oil pressure on startup this way. Like DoktorC said, I'm sure Lakrcr will have some sort of routine as well, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing it with you.
