Im getting a sqeaking noice when I try to turn my bars and the steering is tighter than normal. I only have 1700 miles on my 03 shorty but I know these Yammi bushings in these sleds are junk. My problem is I will not have time to change this bushing('s) before leaving for Muni this weekend. Is there a band aid or quick temp fix I can do to loosen up the steering a little bit. Its not so bad where it wont turn just a little heavy at slow speeds. Kind of like having a set of 12 inch carbides on a set of Simmons ski's. Can I squirt a lil silcon grease down the shaft? Any suggestions will help!! :4STroke:

On my 05 it was the bushing just above the chain case.It has 3 bolts that holds it on.They are not very easy to get too but with the right wrenches sockets and extensions, and moderate cussing. I was able to take them out and grease the inside of the bushing with out taking seat and tank off.

oil

You could try a penetrating oil like Tri-Flo (at least I think that's the name.) I just did this and it seemed to help somewhat. The problem is getting it where you want without getting it all over. I'm currently in the process of locating some small tubing to use as an extension on the tip of the bottle.
