i apologize ahead if i am re-posting
got this 04 rx1 with steering post extension installed on it already, can't say i'm crazy about it but don't feel like taking it off yet. I am having issue with this sled's steering having too much of a play.
when ski's are locked you can turn steering bar 3-4 inches, which makes it hard and dangerous riding. I have same exact sled which is un-modified and steering on it is much better.
can someone point me please in a right direction to which part is responsible for such movement? i am reading alot of posts on bushings but it seems if one or more bushings went my entire drive shaft would move back and forward as well as left right, where my issue is - too much play in steering bar. it seems like its loose u-joint but i don't see any on diagram

when you say extension do you mean riser?, if so c heck that the 4 bolts are tight. if so then the slack is from the hiem-sp? joints, parts 25 and 26, and 45 and 46 and also part 29. each of these wear a little, but it all adds up to a lot.
correct! riser, sorry for wrong terminology. what is heim-sp ? i was suspecting 25-26 mysself, and as for 45-46 wouldn't i be able to see play there? also there is a squeal noise that i can't figure where it comes from and if its even related, it was more noticible while going slower when left ski was bouncing on the ground.

its a hiem joint the sp was short for spelling. the joints i listed can all wear and develop play. also check the ski spindle bushings.
