YES! as dumb as it sounds we saw a guy up in munising back in 2006 that had speakers mounted under the hood of his RS Venture 4 stroke. He had his Mp3 or Ipod mounted to the handlebars. He also had the ability to use head phones or ear buds in his helmet at the same time. I think the speakers under the hood were self-contained amplified outdoor/marine units. The thing that really blew me away was how F-ing good it sounded. His buddies he was riding with said they could hear the music going down the trail. I assume at slower cruising speeds and probably pretty close to the sled.

I agree with the exhaust. I don't run an I pod but I am partial to my Super Q. I find myself playing with the throttle so I can hear it more.

Just found this thread and thought I would share this. A year ago me and the buds got off our sleds and were walking into the bar when I heard Thunderstruck from a distance. When I looked it was coming closer. A guy on a burgundy Apex came toward the parking lot playing AC/DC through his sled. He said and you thought your lights were something LOL. This guy had an Ipod controller on his handle bars, with an amp under the hood with two speakers coming through his front vents. Don't know how he didn't get a ticket, but definitely different IMO

I'm pretty sure I saw this guy in Seney, MI once. I was at the pump getting gas when I heard some heavy metal coming my way. I nearly fell over when he pulled up and shut his stereo off! I thought it was a pretty novel idea, but it wasn't something that I'd be interested in - but I tend to think of him when my ipod ear buds start to hurt a little..

I found an old set or headphones and broke them off the headband. Took the speaker parts and put them in the helmet headphone pouch. Very comfortable and stays in the velcro pouch that is built into my helmet.

I use the collett sno-fone 2. Its a communicator that you can also listen to music via bluetooth. I linked up the I phone and play music as I am going down the trail. Upon communicating the music is automaticly paused, and then automaticly resumed. Another awesome feature is the unit also answers incoming phone calls via bluetooth, and when you are done with your call, the music kicks back in!!!!!! ;)! ;)!
