Stiffness Selector 2006 RTX Apex-Cable ok, shock is problem

My selector on the side of the tunnel to change the stiffness on the shock wasn't working so I assumed it was the cable. I just removed it and it turns out the section where the cable goes into the top of the shock is seized.

Any suggestions? I see it is threaded onto the top of the shock, can I remove it and grease it? Or is it compressed with air/oil?

Remove the shock and have it rebuilt. Its 8 years old and is due for a service. While being rebuilt they can resolve the RA adjustment issue for you.
