Is the stock rear shock on a 06 apex er and 06 attack a Olin's? What is the difference between the Olin's and the kabaya ...if that's how it's spelled?
Apex/Attak ER will have a Kayaba (KYB). The GT has the Ohlins.
They say the Ohlins is better. Never tried one .

My 07 Attak non GT would bottom out with my weight. I had Pioneer revalve and big boy spring. That worked fine. My other 07 Attak is a GT. That bone stock gave better support. I don't adjust it at all. I leave it on hard 24/7. The machine seems to handle better than the non GT. The front shocks are different too I believe. So maybe this is why the GT seems to handle better.

My GT with Ohlins bottoms horribly on anything larger then 10" bump. However, it seriously eats up the smaller chatter. I am going for a revalve this year so hopefully it finds a happy medium.

There is a way to check to see if it still is good. Pioneer told me this.."
Is the shock symbol coming up on the gauge? If so the next thing to check is the manual rebound adjustment on the shock. Turn the rebound knob on the shaft end of the shock. Turn the knob in 3 or 4 clicks, then turn it out the same amount. If you don't feel the detent clicks when turning it back out it's in need of service and is not functioning properly. To remove the shock you have to unplug the wire and undo the limiter straps. Then you can take the bolts out and remove the shock."
