We have been excited about the yamacharger since it came out, we have now installed a few, done field testing and track dyno's. They are the real deal guys. The first graph below shows the stock apex vs Boss Performance clutched apex, the second graph show's a stock apex vs a Boss Performance clutched yamacharger.
Your going to need some big HP to beat these if they are set up properly!
We sell, and install the yamachargers, along with the clutching.

Please post up STOCK Apex WITH your clutching vs. the YC with your clutching.

Thanks

There is another post on this forum and that has the info you are looking for. 7 to 8 horse to the track over stock apex.

Its on the graph's, Looks like about 88hp stock clutched and about 98 Yam-Charger clutched.

I attached the graph from the other post. This is the same sled for all three tests.

Thanks
Scott

98 track hp on a trail sled on regular fuel is frikken amazing. Most guys don,t know how awesome that is. Great work scott!!!

graphs

The graphs that scott is talking about. Where do I go to see these?
Thanks

How does 100 HP at the track compare to other brands' big boys, like a z1 running boost to about 210, or a well tuned machz 1000? Has any body ran one for a significant amount of miles, how was slide wear, etc. affected. Thanks guys. :4STroke:

Those are some good questions, I would like to see what sleds come close to that kind of track HP.

The doo800, Clutched it makes: 83 (peak) @ 60 mph.

Remember you can make all the power you want if you can't get it to the ground it's wasted. I have never tested the Mach or AC turbo. But in seeing how they go, I don't believe make near the power to the track. In our area, the Mach's never lived up to the hype. The cat's are running the Diamond Drive and that's a whole different conversation.

Thanks for the response, seems to me the manufacturers should be putting hp to track numbers on websites, then everyone would know we walk by them! :4STroke:

The graphs are great; we read about and listen to guys all year and hear a ton of different stories about what their sleds will do. There are huge variances in these stories; granted there are so many variables between situations and sleds. The dynos provide an honest hardcore mapping of power although hookup and driving are still the variables.
Two weeks ago we had our 1/4 mile radar runs. There were about 70 sleds; everything from stock to done right up claiming 500 hp. I have an Apex Yamacharged and clutched. I was bout 12 mph faster in the 1/4 than the stock Apex's. This was fairly consistant over 4 runs. This is an honest difference, which may not sound like alot but every mile per hour is a pretty big deal when you are doing mods looking to increase hp. There was a tie for the fastest machines; an Apex totally done up by one of our big dealers here and the new 4 stroke Cat which turned identical top speeds of 128 mph. The snow conditions were slow but it was the same for everyone.
I too would like to see some more dyno comparisons of sleds. It gives you a fantastic base to make some decisions that ultimately end up in spending huge dollars and expecting results because of something you have heard or read
