Hey has anyone taken the muffler off their nytro and run a straight pipe, or what other options do I have for the ice build up. This sled is stock no turbo I thought of shortening the pipe and welding a 90 on

Please add you r location to your site profile, thanks.

I've started mine before with a straight pipe, and it's ear-bleeding loud, and not in a good way.. Lol

I'd suggest a tunnel block off plate to cover what you can to help with ice build-up. I've seen posts over the last few seasons of people adding a thin, flat aluminum plate/sheet to the top side of their tunnel protectors to help isolate the muffler from the elements, which will help as well. The problem is that the muffler melts what hits it and once it runs off it starts freezing back to whatever it can freeze to, so adding a flat sheet will help reduce the areas where it can do that. The heat above the plate should keep everything clear there, which doesn't let the ice collect in the corners of the tunnel opening, etc.

Thanks I guess I asked a stupid question but to clarify this sled is a mtx that was modified the stock exhaust was taken off and a different seat put on with a short tunnel dump exhaust put on. The muffler that was on it broke off and I can't repair it or find one like it to replace it so I was thinking of just welding a 90 on to the pipe but I put a mbrp exhaust on it but the ice build up is crazy now. I will try the plate covering it.thanks again

Moved it to the Nytro Mountain Forum where it belongs. More like to get an answer in here.
