I spoke with my dealer today that said all the scheduled to be built Vipers have been sold. The dealers can't order any extra's, what they have coming is it. He said they had several dealers call today trying to get some of the units he has coming. This was Nelson's Speed shop in Greenville MI. Very large volume dealer. He didn't tell me this to get me to move because he knew I was getting pricing on the 1200 Doo Renegade
 

I was told by my dealer that they are only going to build 2500 vipers and each dealer is capped at 16 sleds.
 
I think this is a good story for dealers to use to try and drum up business. I mean really! Like they aren't going to have Vipers for sale next fall for guys who didn't snow check. Lots of sleds are sold in the fall and winter and dealers are going to want to have some on the floor. This is the first brand new sled Yamaha has come out with in 6 years and it will attract traffic into their showrooms.

Maybe what the dealer meant is a certain model won't be available in the fall like an "X" model Ski-doo But I doubt that as well since Yamaha has never marketed their sleds that way.
 
I'm not so sure about it being a story told by dealers guys. Like I said, I was there to get info on the Doo and overheard two calls while there. There was no reason for them to pull a fast one on me. I wasn't interested in the YamaCat. They were genuinely concerned that they would not be able to fill their orders. Especially after a ton more people see them in person at the shows next week here in Michigan.
 
WHY WOULD THEY THEN HAVE DEMO RIDES AND SNEAK PEAK?

It would be a major blunder on Yamahas part to promote this sled, hype it with adds then promote demo rides, promote the sneak peak, offer snow check deals to then say...sorry no sleds to sell...not going to happen. Whoever is spreading this rumor is wrong and have a ulterior motive.
 
Great marketing ploy...pretend there is a shortage and create a panic to spring order and pay full price. I call B.S.

Just order the same sled from Arctic Cat and save $300 in Canada.

Dan, You actually believe that?
 
Yamaha did that with my 09 Vmax. 2500 built for U.S.. Don't know the worldwide numbers. It might be a smart move, if they have major issues they have limited numbers to deal with. If its a success they'll ramp up for 2015.
 
Sat. I was told by a dealer that TRF was building 4000 total and Canada was getting 1500, our province 400 and he had ordered 40. So maybe the 2500 for you in the US is right.
He said Yamaha had only 2 assembly lines at TRF.
 
I asked my father in law about it and he just laughed. Said he ordered 8 and could order more later if he wanted. So he didn't know anything about a shortage
 
These pos are coming off the arctic cat line and cat sold a bunch of them,point being the production line is already busy taping these thing together....
 
I called the place Mighty is talking about this what he said "before the dealer show yamaha wanted us to place an order so we only have so many to snow check once we snow check them all ( the ones they order) we will have to turn people away".......,and he goes on and says,,,,,,"so if you want one you should do it now because in a week or maybe two you may not be able to get one"

I said ......man that would suck I guess I will just have to get a 2014 skidoo mxz x 1200

He said ......I can do that to !! Lets get this going today so you don't miss out on the viper

I can get the 2014 doo for a 1000 less that's with the rmotion........hmmmmm what to do
 
I also called T&R yamaha and he said he would be able to order more if he had to....didn't know anything about this we had a little :jump:
