Strike your deal before they are gone

Good marketing strategy on their part however they lied to you guys. Each dealer is allowed so many but can always request more if need be. No the limit is not 16 per dealer, I'm allowed almost three times that many so the is bs right there. It's people trying to drum up excitement and business. I can't blame them, they want to get as many out there as possible and so do I, I think it's going to be a great platform and awesome unit to sell.

snow check

It's my understanding the entire reason manufactuers offer great 'snow check' deals is because it helps them determine how many sleds they'll need to build. So based on how many are sold in the spring they can look at analytics from previous years and come up with a fairly accurate estimation of how many sleds they'll need.

Saying 'We're just going to build X # of sleds regardless of demand' would be bad business.

Anyone that believes what a salesman says, needs to take a refresher course, " in how to sort out the truth" Hype, it used to work, now, not so much. Especially when you can end up getting the sleds cheaper in the fall, or early winter. Would you order a vehicle, and wait nine months, when you don,t really know what the end result might be ?

I do recall that when AC released the 2012 ProCross sleds, those who spring checked got their sleds, however late buyers ended up not getting theirs. There were so many problems on the assembly line, changing components on the fly, that even those that put money down for a sled didn't get one. At the time, they were pretty pi$$ed. In hindsight, they were the lucky ones and didn't suffer all the problems these sleds had.

A guy just needs to determine if they want the extended warranty that is only available at the time of snow check I believe. That's how it works with Polaris. Wait to buy one in the fall or winter and you'll save around $1,000 or more but no extended warranty. I snow checked my base model RMK because one engine failure would cost more than what I'd save buying later in the year. On a Yamaha, I don't consider the warranty as important and would be inclined to wait and purchase in the winter.

By waiting, you'll get to see how the sled performs and what people are saying about it on the forums. What I like about Yamaha is they don't sell a snow check only sled that isn't available later in the year. Ski-doo and Polaris do that.

Unless there doing something different with this sled you can get the extended warranty. As long as you purchase it before the factory one year expires you can get an additional four years on all Yamaha power sports.

You guys can believe what you want, I really don't care. Just passing on info to anyone that wants to take a chance on this and possibly be disappointed if they don't get one. I went to another dealer today to look at the 1200 Doo again and it was next to the cat pro-cross which was next to my 2012 apex. I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the apex is head and boulders above both sleds as far as quality of components used to build each sled. At this point I'm definitely passing on the viper and am leaning towards passing on the Doo.

Lastly; I would question cats production capacity. Don't forget that they have to build their sleds too

These pos are coming off the arctic cat line and cat sold a bunch of them, point being the production line is already busy taping these thing together....

THis is not HCS, read the sticky post by the owner of the site about Viper slammers. Have something useful to say- oppinions are welcome insults are of no help to any one.

We all wait to see the quality of the result of this joint effort, but come on "POS......taped together"............You know this?

This is TY not HCS

my 2 cents Yamadoo

So with all of this negative talk with this YamaCat they are selling like crazy? Maybe these are AC riders crossing over.........????

Yamaha did that with my 09 Vmax. 2500 built for U.S.. Don't know the worldwide numbers. It might be a smart move, if they have major issues they have limited numbers to deal with. If its a success they'll ramp up for 2015.

That's what i was thinking. Better to recall 2500 than 5000 sleds if there is major isues.

I think these sales are going to non Yammy guys who aren't aware that these are built by AC, nor the litany of issues these sleds have had over 2 years. Those that are aware, the informed, many TYers, and cautious, are steering clear of this sled...at least taking a wait and see approach.

Remember, Yamaha is 4th in sales. There is a huge market to bring in new prospective buyers releasing this Viper, hence maybe the reason why they are selling so well, if that's true.

I'm sure the sled is going to sell. It's got a ton of potential and they've addressed the big Cat issues. I bet the first year will be the biggest sales year for the Viper, just like it was for the Nytro.

I forgot Yamaha allowed an owner to purchase an addition warranty. Now that I think about it, I recall Ski-doo having a similar program. It's a nice option if your sled turns out to be a lemon.

I have owned and ridden both sleds. The Apex is NOT head and shoulders over a DOO. Your dreaming.. If you are looking at the 2 chrome pieces that are on the Apex, then you are not looking deep enough... You need to look at the facts before you make claims like this. The Viper would intrigue me if it has more hp. But, I would still need to see one before that ever happened.
