I have installed 120 studs down the middle with 6" carbide up front. Although the installation was late last season and didn't see good conditions, I felt that the sled was tight, with heavy steering.
The stock set up allowed the back end to be a bit loose, which is desirable until you need to stop - now.
Please comment on the balance you have found to still allow aggresive 3 point steering, without push through corners or making steering too heavy .

I too am searching for that perfect balance. I have been working with Bruce Schrader from Pioneer Performance of late. He has rebuilt the middle shock and I have purchased a low snow wheel kit, Ohlins shock, new rear springs and sway bar. He has provided for me set up tips with the new parts. I would give him a call. Tell him Shane sent you. I heard about him from TY4stroke and his professionalism, honesty and knowledge are refreshing.

I have 160 Woody's MEGA-BITES down the center only and run 6 inch Woody's Carbides up front. Bruce has recommended that I go to the Woody's Dooly's. I plan to give it a try.

I use 144 doubles and singles down the center with 8" carbides. I started out with 96 studs, but with the torque these things have coming out of corners, you need more for agressive riding.

Shane, what did that Ohlin shock run for the rear replacement?

Thanks for the replies. Both of you have used more rear end bite than I currently have. I am happy with the trail exiting hook up, but disappointed with being able to hold the inside line under accelleration. It will push through a corner causing me to come off the throttle. Nothing I want when I am surrounded by REV's. Mind you this poor set up is still good enough to get around a Fusion.
This would tell me that I need more front end bite.

What are your thoughts on aftermarket skis.
Precisions, are they good on this chassis ? CA's are they too heavy. My wife with take over this ride.

Still laughing about your Fusion comment...

I don't have issues with the stock Vector skis with realistic carbides. The tiny factory carbides are a joke. I have used C&A Pros on my last 2 sleds and was very happy with them for cornering. If I was going to upgrade, I'd go with them again.

I run 120 studs up the center and Shaperbars with 6 in carbides up front. I ride aggressively and have been very happy with this setup. No problems with pushing through the corners either.

When it comes time to replace the carbides I will up them to the 7.5 in Shaperbars though.

You might want to think about shimming your skis too. Do a search, there's plenty of info on hear concerning this proceedure.
