Coming off a Firecat where you can stud over the rails using the closed windows got me thinking why couldn't it be done on these Yamaha's. In my case 121" Apex.
I got great hookup on the Firechicken, anyone remember the hooker stud plates of the past!
It would require relocating the existing stud protector rails to the outside of the track and adding a 3rd rail down the middle, but I think it could be done.
I see the stud protectors are welded to the front heat exchanger so some welding would be required to relocate them and of course dropping the suspension and maybe the drive shaft.
Anyone foresee any problems with doing this?
