Studding a Rage????

Hey guys, need some help as I am a REV guy but work on my buds sleds and need some help with studding a Rage. Its the first year sled,,, think its an 04,,,maybe 05, but anyway, using woodys 1.325 gold diggers with aluminum backers, but what I really need to know is what I need for tunnel protectors. And do you still need protectors on the front heat exchanger if there is even one there like my old SRX. And if you could give me an idea of what the protectors should cost that would be great. Used the search to no avail,,, thanks guys

Stud away!

My 05 has 6200 miles and no problems other than one tear through with just a scrape on the front heat exchanger and the shocks. I did two per bar (104). I don't care for aluminum backers on studs 1" and over as the ones I used seemed to be prone to bending. I replaced them with plastic backers and haven't had a problem since. (The one tear through was with the aluminum backers)

Thanks for the reply Phantom, so are you saying I don't need any protectors at all??? That would be good news to have a sled from the factory that is all set to stud,,,

The only thing I have on mine are the OEM 1" square aluminum tubes that run the length of the tunnel. I'm not saying it's impossibe to put a stud through the front heat exchanger but I've never had exchanger guards on any sled I've owned.
Now I don't go out and red #*$&@ spinning the track all over the place and if I hear somehing flapping in the tunnel I know I better stop and check it out NOW not back at the truck or the first stop. If I do see a stud getting ready to pull through I carry a razor knife to cut it out before it lets loose.
My old XLT had about ten holes in the track from cut outs but that was at 10,000 miles.
