Hi guys ... I was initially thinking air lock as well ...Thanks for the earier advise of tipping on a 45 degree angle to allow air to flow up to the resevoir..tried this ,left it propped up on a good angle for about 30 min ... laid it back flat on floor ,started the engine ...after 20 seconds it stalled and coded 30 again.... I am running out of options here

behind engine above exhaust manifold pull the oil pressure plug, that should allow the air to escape a bit. service manual explains it

Did you try what Crewchief/small town posted?
I would try draining the oil then filling it back up into the oil tank only. If that won't work along with all the other ideas I would bring it in and not try to start it again.

i always poor all 3 liters into tank let sit for a minute and start it, but i do take the valve cover plug off so that the air can move freely. thats what my dealer told me to do

I missed how your problem started? The computer will not let it run with out oil pressure. I had this happen once and a friend once as well. We just lifted up the back end and hit the throttle a couple times and it cleared right up. My friend rolled his over and I wheelied over a bump. They must pick up a air buble and it won't go through at idle.

Hi Guys.. was away ...back to the issue again....tried all suggestions...I tested the resistance on the presure switch it is reading 12.4 ohms...I assume that is good...also checked the wiring going to the switch ,that is fine.... located the oil presure release screw back by the manifold and slacked it off...removed the fuel line so it wouldn't start then I cranked it over 4 or 5 times for 5 - 6 second intervals to see if it would push oil up to the top of the engine ....None appeared ....I am open to more suggestions ...where would find and how can I check the oil pump...also would there be a relay involved here??? thanks for any and all suggestions!!!

if you found the oil pressure sensor i would take it out there could be a pocket of air behind the sensor causing a false reading.

if its in a decent spot you could rig up a cheap mechanical oil pressure sensor. thats the only way to check the oil pump without going into the computer or ripping the engine apart. heck i'm not even sure if the conputer knows exact oil pressure.

Come to think of it, by reading the manual if the oil pressure switch was malfunctioning it would show a code 85.
So when did this problem first appear? You went to change the oil one day and started the sled to warm it up and all was good? Then you drained the oil/did the oil change and then it would not circulate/build pressure?

Did you try this? Code 30 is LOW or NO oil pressure. Yamahas is wright a bad censor has it's own code. I was nervous about hitting the throttle at first as well but it took wright off. It you hit the throttle and it truly has no oil pressure it will just shut down. Hit it two or three times consecutively then see if it will stay idling. If that don't work I would let the dealer flock it up.kviper said:I missed how your problem started? The computer will not let it run with out oil pressure. Hi guys, I had the oil presure switch out and examined it ... I tested it and it was reading 12.4 to 12.5 ohms I am assuming that is enough resistance....the only thing I did different in this oil change was when I was draining the oil, I did hit the key just enough to turn the crank so it would release any oil that was up around the engine ...
