I see a bunch of guys on here have them. Are they any good? Do you get any performance gains or does it just sound good?

I think its a good build quality, def lighter by a good 4-6 pounds, sounds good, priced right, performance......maybe a 1-4 hp gain???? but better responce. Plus you get the turn out tip. I may boost next year so didn't want to spend big ching on a full exhaust.

A+ in my book.

I have a question about it though. Do you need a fuel accelerator with it. In other words, do you get the annoying hesitation on acceleration & a lean backfire on decel???

No, I have one and it's fine without the accelerator. I gained about 400 RPM when tapped out. You get the backfire sometimes, but not more than with the stock silencer. You just notice it more because it's louder. Definitely worth the money

sounds good! I am going to do an air box breather and less restrictive exhaust. I believe Ulmer is coming out with a header system for the stock exhaust. If it will fit stock it will fit this then.

Right on. If you are going to modify the intake, then you will need a fuel accelerator. Also if you are going to buy Ulmer's header though, I think you might as well shell out the bit of extra cash for the full Excell exhaust.

We had one on our Nytro last year but a Ultra and loved it.

If you are interested let me know and I can shoot you a price.

Sounds great, no performance loss, super easy install and loses 5 lbs.

Cool man...we all need to pinch pennies these days!

Let me know when you are looking for the other stuff!!

MY question is if you put one of these on do you have to clutch your sled differently? If you say you gain 400 more rpm's wouldn't you have to run heavier weights?

I didn't. I only noticed it gain speed when it's tapped out. It has just enough extra power to overcome a slight bit of friction, wind resistance, etc when screaming across the lake. Other that that, you won't really notice more power. You would have to use this as part of a series of mods to gain any noticeable power.
