First of all I have the simmons skis 6" carbides on outside and 4" on inside, 144 studs up the centre, front spring preload is set about 1" from the top, mono shock is set @ #3, I weigh 180 fully dressed. Transfer rod is set to give more transfer than stock set-up. What is happening is the sled is darting left and right almost uncontrollably at lower speeds on hard pack (30 - 50 mph) at higher speeds it seems to overcome the darting. I pulled in the limiter strap to 2nd position from top (tightened it). My skis have about 3/8" toe out. Other than that I can't think of a thing to cure this problem. Any suggestions. Lastley I checked my carbides and they are straight. I wonder if the stock skis would of given me this problem.

Ok maybe I will try another one...less complicated.

My skis have the 4" and 6" carbides, where should the 6" carbides go.... on the outside or inside?

Six inch On the inside, I have the same set up and they work great..

Silverbullet is correct about toe out on dual runner skis. square or only a tiny bit of toe out. Also more aggressive carbide on inside should be better. Some people run a runner with worn or no carbide on outside of simmons or doo precision skis. studdog

Tightening the strap will give more ski pressure and actually increase darting. As you accelerate the weight will transfer and reduce ski pressure and therefore reduce darting.

Thanks Warrior, I should of know that. I changed the carbides around and now I will put the limiter strap back where it was. I also talked to the "creator" of the simmons skis today, he was very helpful. He says these skis are horrible if there is too much weight in the front. Definitely put less pressure and it should perform without any darting.
