What are the disadvantages to adding the marginal snow kit (extra set of idler wheels) to a sled?? Is it just the cost?
And....what is the reasoning behind using 3 wheels on the rear axle, with the middle one offset to one side...?? Why not 4?
Just curious.
Thanks,
GT Dave

I know on my 03 RX-1 the extra idlers helped my hyfax. I have not heard how the hyfax are wearing on the 05 monoshock. It looks like the mono is not as far forward as the proaction 03. The track contacts the hyfax farther down the rail, on less of a angle. The disadvantage is minimal (rotating mass). I dont know why they went to 3 wheels, maybe weight, and rotating mass???

There really isn't a disadvantage to running the marginal snow kit, other than the cost and weight. That's why the factory doesn't put them on for us!
That's the reason behind the 3 rear wheels. It doesn't really NEED four and it's lighter and cheaper.
