I have an 03 RX1, I was looking at upgrading the links, bars, and springs on the front. I discovered that my sled has longer links, how can I tell which bar I have init?
I was going to upgrade to the 04 links and bushings, and order the 13mm bar and springs.
Can I measure the spline end of the bar to see which one I have?

I think if you have the longer links...you already have a bigger bar....The long links don't fit the factory 03 bar....

Ok....beats me then....I just remember that I had ordered the longer links and larger bar...The bar came while the links were on back order (7 months)...The bigger bar would not fit the factory links....so on the bench it sat until the links arrived.....That’s my story....
Ps and the handling is quite a bit better with the new setup...JD

Yamaha did come out with longer links that fit the original 03 bar. They were listed in the 05 accessory catalog.
You can't measure the splined ends, the bar tapers to it's true width just past the splines.

Jd u are correct it does improve handling

I ordered a 12mm bar and a set of longer links for my 03 from Bender. The links fit my stock bar as well as the 12mm bar. They do have them for the 03. The links are the same length as the 04 but are smaller on the ends to eccept the 03 stock bar or Benders bigger bar. I will re post on this subject if I ever break this bar but so far no problems. Of course now we have no snow to go and try to break it. You do not have to order parts seperate from an 04/05.

If the end of the bar is about the size of a dime, then it could be 11mm factory, or 12/13mm aftermarket. If the end of the bar is SMALL, it is definitely a 10mm or an already broken aftermarket 12mm-03 bar (they just never held up because the ends twisted off easier than the bar twisted).
To really know with absolute certainty, remove it and measure the bar. Real easy, just remove the links from both ends and pull it out.
