If you are not aware and are in need of a taller windshield Cobra/Powermadd has come out with a new design 18" that does not require the side braces required to use the Yamaha OEM shield.

Sweeet! That's what I've been looking for. It is just too damn cold in Quebec sometimes. I would just throw that in the trailer when I go.

Thanks for that great info.

i had the tall one with the braces on last year and the sled became instantly nicer to ride, im going to have to order one of these

Yep,

I'm all over this one. The other 2 guys I ride with bought the windshield with the braces and I just couldn't get myself to go that way. This new windshield takes care of that dilemma. I don't need to look cool, I need to stay warm on those really cold days.

I'm with you, warm comes before all. I had called Powermadd to make sure braces weren't required and they said no that the shied had been strengthened. Have one on order.

Glad to see you made that phone call. Looking at it on their site made me wonder if it was strong enough. I will be ordering one for my own Christmas present!!!!

I just read about them. They say they are not as wide as stock. Will they protect the hands?

windshield

It was in a snowmobile magazine, that I just got. I don't know which one, I left it in my Deer blind.

OK, I got my PM shied today. The height from the dash deck to the top is 17" whereas the OEM that came on the ER is 13". The width is the same side to side, but the difference is from the cut-out for the headlight back toward the rear of the shield is not as long. 9.5" compared to the OEM, which is 14.5".I don't know if this will effect the hand warmness or not. I use the PM large Gauntlets designed to work with the PM hand guards, so no problem there for me. You will also note my mirrors are the new style Polaris I.Q. that mount to the handle bar. With Gauntlets on any of my sleds the Gauntlets tend to interfere with my mirror view to the rear. Problem solved.

All I am waiting for now is my ZX2 skid frame. The Mono is a great improvement over M-10 or most standard suspension sleds. However I feel there is room for further improvement, especially on bottoming out without sacrificing the softness of the ride. We'll see.

COME ON SNOW!!!
