Just got one of the tank bags and was looking at mounting it and since you already have . . . .
How did you handle the attachment of the velco in the area under the hood? It looks like it has to attach to the round steering support tubes? Also, did you line the underside of the bag as has been suggested here to prevent scratching the tank finish all to hell?

Hey JD how do your mirrors work out that close to your handlebars, and are they polaris mirrors, sure look like umm,i bought the yammi one and mine are junk, all loose and wind pushes them in at high speed, funny thing my wifes polaris has the yammi mirrors on her edge and work great, mine has yammi ones and they suck, now mine are mounted lower on cowl, just below yours, thats why i am asking.

The Velcro it like you guessed, around the tubing…I used alcohol to clean up the tubes first…but they never really stuck that good…I never lined the bag at all and I have very minimal evidence that the bag is even there….Just make sure when you put the snaps on the tunnel that you really stretch that bag down tight…I used a felt marker on the underside of the snaps to mark the location….It is a great bag.

Mirrors…not great: It seems like the only place to mount them, however mostly all I see is my XXL gloves and my elbows….If a sled is approaching along side they come into view but for keeping an eye on the guys behind…not good….Yes they are Polaris….I had tried a Yamaha set and did not like them…the were about the same style though….Polaris ones were cheaper…
