i am having a problem with my 2003 rx1 mountain. the red temperature light comes on just after like a minute into a ride, and come times its great. the heat exchangers were cold when the light was on. when t elight comes on i shut the engine off and then started it up again right after and then went again then it works fine seems to me it mite be airlocked somewhere. can anyone tell me whats going on?

alright...i tilted the sleds rear cooler right up when i was tilted down on a slope and started the engine and loosened the bleed screw and then screwed it back in..and she was perfect ever since. well it didnt come on yet anyways and i have been riding steady for a hour so i say she's good now!

Thanks!

if it comes on again its the temp switch i had a problem with mine a couple of times if they take a good hit at all the will scew up. replaced mine no problems after

so is she really getting hot if the temp switch is giving out? how would you replace this? is it just a fuse or something or its the part that plugs into the thermostat?

well the light came on 2 times since i bleed her. dont know if i bleed it right but like i said above. it still happens. i thought i was good to go but the light still comes on. only 2 times so far but she was not hot! when the light came on i felt the heat exchangers and they were ice cold! but she works perfect and most of the time the heat exchangers and warm, thats when the light wasnt on. they are good. is my sled is running this way is it possible that there is a airlock in the system? if it is airlocked would the heat exhangers be warm sometimes or will always be ice cold if its airlocked? someone help me please!

also, i am going to heck a few things out tomorrow like the holes on the res tank and i mite rebleed the system. gonna try and raise the ear of the sled as high as i can put her. also when i bleed her there today i never touched anything under the hood. i keep the cover on the res tank and didnt even lift up the hood on the sled. i just her up and slacked the rear exchanger bleed screw and i didnt take the bleed screw right out i just unscrewed it 3/4 the ways out just enough for the air will escape the system but i dont know where i went wrong. does i need to have the res tank cover off when i does this or is it right the way i dont it? let me know

I have always had better luck raising the front to bleed the cooling system.

its the switch right below the thermostat its a very easy change. my temp light would go on even if it was cold it was on and off all the time i replaced the temp switch and its been fine since
