I know they don't like trashing other brands here...but it is awfully hard to be a yamaha fan and sit idle, well the cat guys spout off about the next best thing since sliced bread(the new Jaguar)...give me a break.

So let's just post the facts:

It's as heavy as a Warrior 575 lbs(claimed weight, which we know cat has a bad habit lying about hp, and weight)

123 HP 3 more than a vector (again claimed)

a direct copy of the REV chassis (pyrimid)

Again..not trying to trash it...but the cat riders have been going off about the yamaha four strokes for 3 years now...and when they finally come with a non turbo 4 stroke it's heavier than a yami 4 cylinder (it's a twin), and has the same HP as a yami 3 cylinder....I certainly don't call that earth shattering...It just proves to me that Yamaha is way ahead of the game..about to really take the lead over the next two years...the cat riders, just can't be too happy about the JAG, because...everything they have trashed yamaha about the last three seasons is now staring them in the face....lol

I agree with your basic point Heritage, just so you know that honest opinions are allowed here but not on HCS.

It is also amusing that after years of hearing the term "RX-1 Ton" that was coined by the competitors, they chose to name an equally weight-challenged sled a name that also ends in the number 1. The Z1Ton.

And I'm not trashing the sled at all, as I'm glad to see it. I am however trashing the outspoken, close-minded idiots that have done a complete 180 concerning their 4 stroke views. Weights and hp figures that have been familiar for years and that they have scorned are suddenly new and innovative. :tg:

I'd hold my tonque until we see exactly what is coming. If there is a turbo version of this sled (which wouldn't surprise me) you guys are gonna eat your words.

A turbo in it's future would not surprise me at all and I expect it. It is certainly something to watch out for out on the trails if it happens. However, that won't make me eat my words concerning the pre-release attitudes of the folks I'm talking about.

I agree 100%. I dont see how the "glass on the seat" claim is true, but we'll see.
On paper, the Z1 certainly doesnt look all that impressive and I doubt it will be the ditchbanging sled that Cat riders are used to, but we'll see.
I dont agree with the comment that the engine will be bullettproof because its built by Suzuki. Suzuki has made a lot of engines for Cat that were just terrible engines. I dont blame Suzuki, because they built to Cat's specifications.
I personally dont see a 1050 twin holding up all that well because of the vibration, but we'll see. So far, none of the bigbore twins have been all that impressive.

is this from a voice of experience Captain Toyota?

LOL...I dunno about that. Ive got a few friends who ride Cats and lets just say that Arctic Cat dependability has never impressed me.

The one thing that impresses me about the new Z1 is that it should be a warm machine to ride in the cold weather..................

Turk where did you see the pricing. The other thing the cat does not have is monoshock which the more I ride the mre I love it just eats the stutter bumps. Does the cat have a ripsaw track standard?

OMG..Who said Suzuki is reliable???? LMAO!!!...I have towed more cats than any other brand the last 5 years....$10,300 dollars???? NO WAY!!!

You would have to be a serious cat sheep to pay that much for 120 hp class sled....that's crazy!!!
