I am considering purchasing dual runners for my Apex from a company in Mukwonago,Wi. called JOHNMASTER. According to this companys advertisement the carbides are set further apart than the normal dual runners. (Woody's and Stud Boy). The wider stance is supposed to give the rider better control. It makes sense to me. (I guess)
Has any of you guys ever used them, or knew of anyone who has, that could give an opinion. :exc:

This is a first for me too. Dual runners carbides have too much drag and often get clogged with snow or debris. Then tend to dart more than a regualar runner. I have found that the Stud Boy shaper bars work very well, great bite and minimal darting.

I checked out their website. It seems they are referring to the "Double Down" dual runners made by Snow Studs, formerly Saber Traction.

Apparently the spacing between the carbides are 1 1/4".Anyone have a pair of Woodys Doolys and care to measure the distance between carbides to compare?

No idea on how they perform though.

IMO, I feel that the Studboy Deuce bars are the better "dual" runner out there.

Thank for the input. I guess I'll have to take a chance and buy a set.

Hey flambo...please add your location. Site rules ask that you provide it. Welcome to the site... ;)!

Woody's went to slim Jim more narrow profile to prevent icing less weight too. What are Triple points just very narrow triple runner doolies that wear very well & calm darting. Better off with triple points tried & proven.

Totally agree, I put a set of the Shaper bars on my Viper last year, and before that all I used were Woody's, what a differance. Woody's still has a great product though.

I suppose the new Woody's Slim Jim Doolys havn't been on the market long enough to get any opinions.

Maybe some feedback will be coming soon as the snow flies.
