I was innocently trail riding and after accidentally hammering the throttle to lift the skis (since I don't want to wear them out ;) I had a situation where Mr sled wanted to head for the bushes and buck me off. In a panic I was able to grab the handlebar from underneath on my way off the sled and coax it away from said trees. At that point I lost all power. Nothing. No lights in the display, no whir of fuel pumps when turning the key back on. There is a tether connected to the left side where I grabbed - if the wires leading to it were somehow disturbed would that cause said problem? Any other ideas?

Pull up the kill switch on the right bar

Tether not connected properly and or wires not connected will cause problems. I had a worn out tether connecter that caused me problems till I replaced.

Lol.. kill switch is disabled anyway (I forgot to mention that, and figured that solution would come up). Thanks Lman. Are we talking 'complete lack of power' problems?

My tether is wired to kill switch wiring so yeah had no power till put new tether on. Carry extra one just in case I ever lose the main one. Swapped on trailer and boom back up and running.

I worried mine would be an issue on trail, so I put connectors on that I can pull the cowl, unsnap it, and re-connect it bypassing the tether until I get home. I got upset with it when I couldn't get it seated right in the warm fall with warm, ungloved hands. I could see how pissed off I was going to be on the Tug, in -20, fudging with the damn thing.

I've done the same as well just in case I can't get it working.

I also meant on trail and not trailer.

If I follow the wires back from the tether, there is a connection I can take apart and jump the wires. Having done this there is still no power - does this rule the tether out, or would I need to replace the tether itself to know?
