So far Montana is the worst state I have ever rode in for checking permits and SPEED. Montana trails have a 45mph speed limit all the time, our group got pulled over for doing 52mph and luckily given a warning. Speed limit is the worst trail law I have every experienced, it would be very bad if MI or WI had a speed limit day and night.

Just got back from the western UP. Stayed at the rootcellar again this year. We stayed from sunday to thursday and the trails were awesome. I would say I spent less than 500 which includes everthing from lodging to meals. The groomers and others that take care of the trails, the 35$ trail permit is well worth it. If you got the time and a little cash you cant go wrong im the UP. Well worth it.

X2 on the reg stickers, $195 ticket if theyare on the tunnel, and wax the crap out of where you put the trail permit otherwise when you remove it it will leave viod all over, and good lick getting that off! Have fun up there the trailes are Great. If you make it over to Newberry take it slow, they have rent-a-cops on the sleds that love to give tickets.
