Hi guys and gals,

If anyone has any advice on what to look at when buying this year of RX1 I would appreciate it. Or if there is another post similar, a link would be great.

The machine has 9000km on it and I am paying $5800cdn if I buy it. New track and new studs.

Thanks in advance,

Agree with BigDog on the links as well as all the info in the RX forum. I picked up an 05 last fall and checked everything out in the suspension per the posts here, but here's a little tip I haven't seen anyone mention. The 05 I bought had a blue skid plate on the front end, covering up the chassis and directly underneath the engine. Once I got the sled home I took off the skid plate and saw that the chassis itself was cracked where the A arms bolt on. Someone hit a stump or something hard and did a number on the cast belly, and then covered it up with the skid plate. Just saying, check it all over EVERYWHERE for cracks as the front end is really two cast halves riveted together.

Well Bought the seld, pick it up tomorrow
$5800
Has a new track with about 1000km on it and 96 studs with the same. Seller said that the skid was updated to "06 specs" which I am assuming refers to the rail fix mentioned in a few posts.

I hope the sled pans out or imma be angry...4 hour drive

Will post a pic or two when I get it back.

SnoAngel - Congrats on your '05 RX-1 and welcome to the site.

The upgrade was new rails and front torque arm if they had cracks. New 2006 rear shock if broken. New bushings and grease zerks installed. This was done to my mono skid under warranty.

One more thing, please fill in your location in the user profile.
