Thinkin of nytro mountain alot

Otis I agree with you about the cat being the sled to have this year, it looks to have it all as long as it holds up. It looks like you have had your own growing pains with your sled. How long did it take for your header to come loose? and what did you do to prevent it? What did you find for settings with the shockwave? Thanks

Header bolts were loose right away. I caught them after my first week of riding and tightened them. After the second season one fell out and I lost the exhaust gasket and power. I thought it was the head gasket and had a leak down test which was perfect. The tuner did remind me to use yamaha ring free in every other tank or so to keep the valves clean and I would unlikely have a problem at 10-12 psi of boost.

I changed them out to locking header bolts which has stopped the issue. I also geared down to 18/40 went to the challenger 162" track and keep the shockwave to around 45 to 47 degrees depending how wet the snow is. Last year it was riding fantastic except for how tired I was after it was done throwing me around for a week. Now with the skinz front end I'm excited to see how lighter the sled handles.

Getting excited to ride in 3 weeks.

Yeah I would be pumped also. I don't have a trip planned yet, I would like to test the set up before traveling 18 hours. I would like to ride with someone like yourself that has the experience with the turbo set up first hand. I am new to the turbo world so I'm learning the hard way, hopefully not to hard! I'm not sure if the Ulmer kit has had any issues with the header bolts, I know the bolts for the turbo to header are a locking bolt.

The new Cat 1100turbo is very nice but WAY WAY over hiped. Plus i realy question the claimed power with these ecu upgrades....i'll tell you why.

Was out with a guy that has one with the updated controller in Revy this week. During coffe in the morning he was telling me about his new beast, it sounded very impressive, till we got into the backcountry.

In every way the 1100 is lighter and handled well, though i feel the Nytro handle well also, just different.
But in the steep and deep, even though he claimed big # for hp, it didn't even come close to my Nytro.
The 1100turbo performed about the same as a BB 800 thats well tuned but with alot more weight.
My Nytro would pull 1500ft chutes at 60-65+mph, while the 1100 was lucky to see 50mph and would scratch it self over the top.
I'm a solid 220hp with 12Lb boost. He claimed around 240+hp with his updated ECU......

There is no doubt the Cat is a better suited ready to go mountian sled in a stock form but the over hipe is a little stupid. There is alot of exageration going on, i personaly wouldn't trade my Nytro because i know the motors are solid. I heard they are strong also but after this week i wasn't impressed. Niether was the owner.

Yeah sorry MT about the kitty, hope it works out for you. Dirtmover if you are still around lets put this back on subject.

Dirtmover has alot of info. here, he's probably reading this stuff and adsorbing it all.
Personaly, like i said in one of my previous post. If your not into big boost and big tracks, stick to a 2stroke for the mountians. Unless you like trail cruising hehehe.

MT. the 1100 isn't that bad, if i had to do it again, it would be my 1st choice. Though it needs a little more then just an ecu upgrade imo.
Better exhaust, bigger inner cooler with extra injectors would put this MEOW up there.

ECU upgrade....check
Exhaust upgrade...check
Inter-cooler upgrade....in process
Injectors...not doing that till I decide if I need turbo upgrade...

Airframe boards....check
Airframe hood...check
Airframe seat...check
Ballistic battery...check

Snow...................in progress :)

Hey guys im new to totallyamaha. I want to go 4 stroke and have been looking around.i currently have a arctic cat M7.i rode a nytro xtx and i really liked it.I am conserding buying a nytro mtx but they lack in power a little bit.Is there any mods u can do besides a turbo or supercharger. i thinkin it would be great ith about 160hp is that possible. thanks

dirtmover800, if your still on line. What's your reason in wanting the Nytro 4stroke. Just wondering, i suspect its for the 4stroke.
You could upgrade your m7 to an m8, this will put you in the ball park in hp with alot less weight.
