Hey guys. I think this is my first post here on the 4 stroke side. I am looking into getting an apex. Probably a bit older. My budget is 5000 - 6000$ which here in Canada sleds are more expensive. Wondering about common issues to look for When buying. Which years are best to look for etc etc. Any advice is much appreciated.

LOL, $5 to 6 grand will not buy you a 2011 or newer XTX here in Canada, it's more like 7 to 9 grand. Saying that there are decent deals out there for older Apex's but i'd wait until off season myself to pick one up.
make sure exhaust gaskets have been serviced and no cracks in the rear suspension, also check the front suspension for excessive slop, they may not have replaced the plastic bushings.

Very good advice. I bought a 2009 last year and had to deal with all those issues. Got a 15 xtx this year and love the power steering. I bought it in the off season and saved big $$$. If you can wait and try to look for an 11 with a bit more budget.

Not sure if you have the option to go to the states and buy one, there are deals here in Michigan. I bought my 09 last year with 2200 miles on it for 5K with a studded track, new battery, dual carbides and DuPont slides.Hey guys. I think this is my first post here on the 4 stroke side. my opinion, would look at an 08+, beefier front suspension swing arm, and added support in the exhaust/muffler. Tons of Apex on Kijiji, in Ontario at least. Several 08's at your price point too.
Good luck

Not sure where you are located but search kijiji across Canada. I am in Manitoba and bought mine from Edmonton and had it shipped to my door and saved a lot over buying locally. Alberta is hurting from the oil and Ontario and Quebec have lots of competition to sell used sleds so prices are better.

Make sure the fuel pump relay is the newer style.

At least an 08. Has mid pipe support. So you're avoiding cracking issues as much as possible. Ask about exhaust donuts. Most likely they are, or will be leaking soon if oem ones are installed. The copper ones are probably the best. Have them in both mine. If they are leaking badly, then figuring the flanges are fuked. Those are 2 things I can think of quickly.

I just picked up a 2011 SE with 9000 miles for $5200. Mint condition, new battery, duponts, Hygear front end, all Floats rebuilt, Ice ripper XT , Oilite bushings, Ulmer clutch
Love the sled , but its been raining and 40*F Pretty much since I bought it .... SO who knows when It will snow again.. Been a terrible past 3 years here..
Honestly it's frustrating enough to make me want to sell both of my sleds as I dont have time to travel to different locations, as I work about 55-60 hours per week

I've got a pair of 2007 Apex sleds for sale. 5500 miles on my GT w/ fresh shock rebuilds last spring. 4500 miles on the wife's ER. Both come with Yami covers, mid and tall windshields, spare set of Studboy carbides and new spare belts. Both sleds garage kept and are in excellent condition.
$10k takes both. 2006 Triton trailer w/ salt shield and spare tire can be had for $1200.

You have a link for these to the TY Classifieds section?I've got a pair of 2007 Apex sleds for sale. 5500 miles on my GT w/ fresh shock rebuilds last spring. 4500 miles on the wife's ER. 10k is twice as much as the original poster's budget but some others may be interested that live closer to you.
