So I have been thinking about adding an Apex to the stable for a while. A new one isn't in the cards. Have come across an 07 gt I can pick up for real short $. Miles are around 7500 which I'm not too worried about. Current owner is not the first and I'm not sure how complete the service records are. Will be sure to check the following.
Arm play
Oil tank cracks
W arm cracks
Skid cracks
Exhaust donuts
I would also plan on replacing driveshaft and jackshaft bearings.
Anything else I should be looking for or concerned about?

Check the radiator brackets for cracks also. If the w-arm is rusted @ joints get 2010 part. It's beefed up...

Also check track and underside of tunnel (if it's studded) to see if there is any major damage to the underneath. Also something I missed was my headlight assembly was loose seeing the mounting brackets were broken off. With it on a lift spin all the wheels to see if there is any grinding etc or any play.
I would suggest a full shock re valve when you get it to freshen it up.

buy it... make the investment if it does indeed need parts... enjoy the hell out of it for another 10,000 miles

x2 on the shock service. If it does not have a dual rate spring it might benefit from that. Also the footboard exchangers are prone to leaking from flexing.

It sounds like you did some research and I agree with SnoPro... I did the same thing found an 07 gt with 2700 miles for a steal . I ended up putting a couple hundred more into it for maint. and some goodies I wanted, but I absolutley LOVE this machine. It rails in the trails, stable as can be through rough chop, and eats 800's for lunch.
Good luck

I got my 06 GT for $3700 with 3145 miles. I then went thru it and completely rebuild and powder coated the skid, new copper exhaust donuts, stainless y-pipes, Excell X-wheels, replaced the bearings in the rest of the wheels, added 4th wheel kit, replaced one upper a-arm, new battery, new spark plugs, solid state relays, new windshield, Pilot 5.7 skis & 7.5" Shaper carbides, and a few other things. Put about $2000 into it but I am very happy with it now and should last for a long time.
