Thoughts on studding track on Phazer?

Running 96 with 6" carbides. Works perfect and hooks up great. Anymore would be kinda pointless, IMO. Another advantage is they minimize slip on ice when the engine brakes. This was my main reason for studding. Got a little scary going around icy corners when letting off the gas.

Hope it helps.

I have 72 down the middle, and 6" carbides. I haven't ridden it yet. should work fine. :-o :4STroke:

I'm doing 96, down the middle with 6" carbides. Now I just need to find someone that can bend square aluminum tubing for my tunnel protectors... Yamaha's price for them is way out of line for about $20 worth of materials.

96 Studboy power points down the middle on the track, and 9" Shapers on the skis. Works real good. I made my own tunnel protectors. You do have to go all the way to the front with them too. At first I only did the back half of the tunnel, (as some suggested) then I noticed it was catching on the front hole in the tunnel. Then I made new ones to go all the way up. If you take the seat and the sub frame for the seat off they are pretty easy to put in all the way to the front.

I'm a little shy about putt studs on the new sleds...

Back in 99 I studded a pair of new Ventures and they were never the same. Problem was I mentioned I ice-fished and the dealer over-studded (I don't recall how many) them big time in my opinion - the handling was NEVER the same, no matter how many which carbides I tried....

I'm going to hold off for now...
