Throttle cable compatibility?

Wondering if a throttle cable from an older carbed Vector Mountain would work on a newer (2014) efi Vector LTX? A bud is putting a mountain riser on his and we don't want any surprises! If not, who has had the standard cable lengthened?

measure it, for all you know someone couldve replaced it with a tractor cable instead of a factory, as long as the in/out travel is the same and you have enough free play in the cable then you should be fine
