Throttle cable extension

I have mounted a handlebar riser (2,5") on my Rx1 mountain, and now is the throttle cable too short, when i turn right i think.

Here in Sweden I have just found some extension kit's which seems a bit crappy to me. Isn't there any longer cables to buy somewhere?

From what I remember, MPI did have some longer cables, but now I cant find any.

Is there anyone else that have this, or should I just go with the cable extension? That one can't possible work with t.o.r.s.

well im about to purchase a 2" ROX pivot riser and was hoping it would fit with no problems on the throttle/brake cable....now you have me worried....anyone know if you need the extension ....

What year rx1???

I used 05 RX1 Mountain cables on my 03 RX1 w/ an 8" riser

I have an 03'......I figured it would go no problems....put a 6.5' on my Cat no problems....I was told by Rox that yamaha's always had a little extra cable length.......

The 05 RX1 mtn cable is longer. I have enough length to go wit a 10" riser if needed on my 03 RX1

Have you tried rerouting your cables. Taking them out of the cable guides buys you some room.
On my Attak I rerouted cables for the 3.5" rox riser.

I have tried to reroute the throttle cable outside the cable guide below the handle bars, but that isn't enough.

Perhaps I should order the 05 Rx1 mtn cable then?

I have seen posts of guys trying aftermarket cables and some were not happy.I used a 05 RX-1 Mountain cable with a pivot block and a 3" riser .price was $36.00 in Canada and works great(lots of cable to go bigger).

Okay, here is the problem, and it's a big one.

Yamaha Rx1 mountain 04-05, and perhaps 06 haven't been sold in Sweden. I think it was Rs Vector that was sold as mountain back in -06.

The annoying thing is that my Yamaha Dealer sucks pretty much, and they having problem just to find spare parts to even Swedish sold models. Can someone explain to me how they should bring home a Rx mtn -05 throttle cable then?

Can someone please find me a item # for this cable? Perhaps then it's a slight possibility for them to get a hold of one.

Edit; I think the fastest way to go is to order one directly from the US or Canada. The question is, from who? Anyone knows a nice dealer over seas that perhaps can send me one?

i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that with a 2" riser the stock cables on an '03 will be ok... if you go anything bigger you will need cable extensions
i'll find out soon when i get my 2" riser lol

Call them and ask for Kevin. He'll have your parts shipped ASAP. I used this cable and no additional mods on my Attak. Added a Rox 4-51/2 riser yesterday.
