During replacing my steering boots (just pulled the tie rods out of the spindles...so easy) I noticed both tie rods are bent, and not the same as each other.
Anyone else just hammer em straight or have to get new? To me it looks like they were bumped before I owned the sled. Since putting my Skinz float plate they cant get bent in that spot, but nothing I would have noticed before.
Thanks. No snow, warm weather means the Phaz in the shop

I would put them in a vice with soft jaws and massage them. If there are no kinks you should be good to go.

Having been bent and rebent back, the metal is weakened. Just think of when you take a piece of wire or metal and keep bending it back and forth. Each successive time, it becomes easier and it eventually breaks.
If it bent once, it will bend again and now even easier. I would get new ones. They bent for a reason.

Moose is bang on.
Metal memory. You can bend it back but it will, if not crack, bend back very easy after. Had this problem with my race quad awhile back even landing jumps or rough terrain. Same rods, look like same metal. I fixed using stainless steel aftermarket ones. Never a problem since.

well I am going to bend them back, and order a new set for next time its in the shop. Cant imagine just the rods are very expensive. ATV where did you find stainless aftermarket rods?

It's been awhile since buying but I bought lone star (LSR) racing. If I remember they were close to $100 can shipped.
They sell all sizes tho and can't imagine the threads being any different.

It will be impossible to use regular heim joints as outer tie rods because of the extreme angles. See this thread for further info:
